The Government of Tamil Nadu provides various types of leave to its employees under the Tamil Nadu Fundamental Rules and Tamil Nadu Leave Rules. These leave provisions help employees balance their professional duties with personal, medical, educational, and family responsibilities.
1. Casual Leave (CL)
Casual Leave is granted for urgent personal work and unforeseen circumstances.
Eligibility:
12 days per calendar year.
Cannot be carried forward to the next year.
Normally cannot be combined with other kinds of leave.
2. Earned Leave (EL)
Earned Leave is credited to employees based on service and can be accumulated for future use.
Features:
30 days earned leave per year.
Maximum accumulation up to 300 days.
Eligible for leave encashment as per Government rules.
3. Half Pay Leave (HPL)
Half Pay Leave is credited periodically and can be used for medical or personal reasons.

20 days credited per year.

4. Commuted Leave
